Kite Making and Flying Competition 2024

Dear Students,
Prepare to elevate your spirits as we announce our thrilling Kite Making and Flying Competition in celebration of Makar Sankranti! This exciting event is set to unfold on January 13, 2024, and is open to students ranging from Class 1 to 9. To ensure an equitable contest, we have divided the competition into two groups: Group A (Class 1 to 4) and Group B (Class 5 to 9). Additionally, we've introduced two distinctive parameters for judging: Parameter 1 (Decorative Handmade Kite - focusing on creativity and design, with flying capabilities adding extra value) and Parameter 2 (Flying Performance).

Prizes:  In each group, two winners will be crowned:
     1.                  Most Decorative Handmade Kite
     2.                  Outstanding Flying Performance
Competition Parameters:
     1.                Most Decorative Handmade Kite: Judges will evaluate kites based on creativity, design, and overall visual appeal. One winner will be selected from each group for decoration.
     2.                Flying Performance:  Kites will be assessed on flight stability, height achieved, and maneuverability. One winner will be selected from each group based on performance.
Rules for Kite Making:
     1.           Size and Shape: Kites must be of a manageable size, easily transportable to school for both groups. Unnecessarily large sizes will be disqualified. Participants are encouraged to explore various shapes for the decorative handmade kite competition while ensuring aerodynamic soundness for effective flight.
     2.            Materials: Utilize eco-friendly and safe materials for kite making. Avoid any materials that may pose harm to the environment or participants.
     3.             Decorations: Creatively decorate kites, capturing the festive spirit of Makar Sankranti. Enhance visual appeal without compromising the kite's flight capabilities.
Rules for Kite Flying:
     1.             Flight Performance: Kites will be judged based on flight stability, height reached, and maneuverability. Construct kites with these parameters in mind for optimal performance.
     2.             Safety Measures: Follow safety guidelines while flying kites. Maintain a safe distance from others and avoid flying kites near power lines or restricted areas.
     3.             String Restrictions:  Strictly prohibit the use of threads with lead or any harmful particles. Such kind of negligence will cause strict disciplinary action. Participants must use only safe and biodegradable materials for kite strings. Violations will result in disqualification.

We extend a warm invitation to all students to participate in this celebration and showcase your creativity and skills. Let's make this Makar Sankranti an unforgettable experience!
